Netgear DM111PSP: Routed Subnet

  1. After the DM111PSP is connected to your computer with the network cable provided, open a web browser such as Internet Explorer, and connect to the modem by clicking the address bar and typing "" (without quotes), and then press Enter.
  2. You will be prompted for login credentials.
    • Username: admin
    • Password: password


  3. At the Setup Wizard screen:
    • Change Auto-Detect Connection Type to "No. I want to configure the Internet connection myself." and hit Next.


  4. At the Basic Settings screen:
    • Change the Encapsulation to "PPPoA (PPP over ATM)."
    • Enter your DSL login name:
    • Enter the DSL password: frii
    • Be sure to disable NAT.
    • Warning.png If you want to be able to access a device in your internal network from an external source, you will also need to disable NAT/firewall; alternatively, you can add a rule to permit the inbound traffic in the Firewall Rules configuration screen.
    • Hit "Apply."


  5. At the ADSL Settings screen:
    • Change Multiplexing Method to "VC-BASED."
    • Change VCI to "32."
    • Hit "Apply."


  6. In the Advanced section on the left navigation pane, click "LAN Setup."


  7. At the LAN Setup screen:
    • Enter the IP address of the LAN interface.
    • Enter the subnet mask.
    • Remove the check in the checkbox labeled "Use Router as DHCP Server."
    • Hit "Apply."


  8. In the Advanced section on the left navigation pane, click "WAN Setup."


  9. Check the boxes labeled "Connect Automatically, as Required" and "Respond to Ping on Internet WAN Port." The click "Apply."


  10. In the Maintenance section on the left navigation pane, click "Set Password."


  11. At the Set Password screen:
    • Enter the old password: password
    • Enter a new password and repeat.

    • Hit "Apply."


  12. Your DSL modem is now configured to connect to the Internet.
